INEGI (MEX)

This award recognises INEGI as the steward of Mexico’s official Climate Change Information System (SICC), a centralised platform that integrates essential data on greenhouse gas emissions, mitigation projects and climate vulnerability. By making this intelligence openly accessible, INEGI provides the statistical infrastructure that anchors the design, monitoring and verification of Mexico’s nationally determined contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement.

In 2025, INEGI continued to strengthen this system, updating indicators and expanding geospatial layers that allow policymakers, researchers and investors to track emission trends and assess climate risks with unprecedented granularity. Every indicator, map and dataset published under its stewardship transforms climate ambition into measurable, accountable and actionable information. For building the open‑data backbone of Mexican climate governance, INEGI receives this recognition.
