Linde

Leadership in Industrial Gas Systems

This award recognises Linde for building the production and infrastructure backbone of the clean hydrogen economy. Through 2025, the industrial gas leader advanced a USD 8 to 10 billion pipeline of clean energy projects spanning both green and blue hydrogen, including a 35 MW PEM electrolyser under construction in Niagara Falls, New York, set to double Linde's US green hydrogen capacity by year-end 2025, and a 24 MW facility at the Leuna chemical complex in Germany already reducing CO2 emissions by approximately 40,000 tonnes annually.

Its partnership with Yara at Porsgrunn supplies renewable hydrogen for green ammonia production, demonstrating the industrial viability of clean hydrogen across sectors. In 2024, Linde helped its customers avoid 96 million tonnes of CO2e—delivering climate benefits more than twice its own global emissions—through efficiency and innovation, and the company continues to develop carbon capture, utilisation and sequestration solutions alongside its hydrogen portfolio.

As the architect of the entire hydrogen value chain, from electrolysis and liquefaction to compression and refuelling, Linde provides the indispensable infrastructure that enables steel, transport, chemicals and other hard-to-abate industries to decarbonise. For building the clean-hydrogen and carbon-capture infrastructure on which industrial decarbonisation depends, Linde receives this recognition.
