Brookfield Renewable Partners
Leadership in Climate Private Equity
This award recognises a renewable energy partnership for turning portfolio scale into measurable decarbonisation. By the end of 2025, Brookfield Renewable Partners had grown its global operating capacity to 47,200 megawatts, over 96% of which is renewable, supported by a development pipeline exceeding 200 gigawatts. In July 2025, the company signed a first‑of‑its‑kind Hydro Framework Agreement with Google, the world’s largest corporate clean‑power deal for hydroelectricity, to deliver up to 3,000 megawatts of carbon‑free hydropower across the United States.
The first contracts executed under the agreement – for Brookfield’s Holtwood and Safe Harbor facilities in Pennsylvania – represent more than $3 billion in power and 670 megawatts of capacity, directly supporting Google’s 24/7 carbon‑free energy ambition.
Beyond individual contracts, Brookfield Renewable proved that mature renewable assets can be re‑engineered for deeper decarbonisation. The Hydro Framework Agreement dedicates capital to re‑license, overhaul and upgrade existing hydroelectric dams, extending their useful life and adding low‑emission, dispatchable power to grids straining under rising demand from electrification and data centres. By securing long‑term power purchase agreements with hyperscalers, and by expanding its sustainable‑solutions segment to include nuclear services (Westinghouse), carbon capture, renewable natural gas and eFuels, Brookfield has demonstrated that a large‑scale, diversified clean‑energy portfolio is a verifiable engine of global decarbonisation. For delivering record Funds From Operations of $1,334 million in 2025 while scaling the essential infrastructure of the energy transition, Brookfield Renewable Partners receives this recognition.
